The Gaby Story

1. I met Gaby for the first time at Homecoming in 2001.  She had ordered a breeding pair of pups from me so that she could start a breeding program in Switzerland.  I was told that she had been breeding ADS, but that she wanted to get involved with the Shilohs because they were so much bigger and smarter--and because she was tired of  the politics and splintering that was going on within the ADS circles.

Since I thought that she was at least familiar with the European rules and procedures, as well as being bilingual, I assumed she could help me out by investigating the most recent regulations-requirements for acceptance into the FCI.  She promised she would contact some people and try to get those rules translated for me.

In 2002 Gaby joined the LB program, but never got involved with the lessons because she felt she should be given amnesty from the agreement she signed due to her poor English skills (and her dial up expenses).

In September 2003 she whelped her first ISSR litter consisting of 9 pups that were never individually registered! That's when she started to complain about the ISSR procedures and fees. Stating that it was too difficult for her to comply within our requirements and that I needed to "find an easier way" for her customers to get papers.  I told her we would discuss this at the 2004 Homecoming.

Because she had just purchased another breeding pup and her Scarlet had/would be having more litters I felt that we had to something to protect the future generations. Since Gaby felt she should be exempt from any ISSR fees, etc., I agreed to let her collect and document the data under the ESSR banner (as a division) of the ISSR--but she had to make sure that what she compiled was 100% accurate (spelling and all) and that all of the LMX information could easily be merged into the TCCP database.

She kept telling me that she wanted the dogs to be recognized as a breed, and I kept insisting that if she didn't do her part right that would never happen! She asked Karen to proof web pages, etc., so that she could establish some credibility for the "breed".  I assured her that I had many powerful friends in Europe that would back me once I chose to walk through the doors, but I did not want to impose on them for the basic ground work. That would be HER job, to make the calls, order the proper rule books, forms, etc., etc. so that I could prepare the needed data to apply for recognition.

She would be our "official" representative--ambassador -- for the ISSR/SSDCA.  At no time did I insinuate that she could just "make up" her "own" rules for our breed.  She was only there to inform me of the SKG regulations to which we might have to conform/adjust our some of our rules in order to achieve approval.

The following chronology lists the details of these events as they transpired. A Chronology: SSC and FCI Recognition.

<<The weekend of Sept. 25-26th, 2004 Tina and Karen started investigating the FCI rules and listing what the board would have to take under advisement.>>

Please note: The "rules" that Gaby presented finally us with in July of 2005 were not the requirements of the SKG (as I had requested) but her own rules -- made up by Gaby.

Upon questioning Gaby regarding this foolishness, she assured me that "those rules" were put together by "The BOARD" that we later discovered consisted of her father and a policeman "friend" she knew over there! None of these people have any "political" dog experience although her father did have a few litters of unpapered "puppy farm" GSD's and her policeman friend once had a GSD (I think) but none of these people have ever been active club members, much less officers of any European dog club! In other words, most of you have a lot more experience than they do!

As soon as we started investigating things, Gaby started getting upset and making demands that I send her the TCCP database. I insisted that I had to see exactly what she was doing and that we   would continue to investigate until everyone here was satisfied that her "operation" over there was benefiting our dogs, instead of discrediting all of us! (I was still waiting for the Phantom documentation and the ESSR data!).

Please see October-November section of the Chronology.

The week before Christmas I finally got some of the paperwork that I had been waiting for! I was in shock! Please note the letter I wrote to the board!  http://www.shilohshepherds.com/phantom/documentationPhantom.htm.

Upon investigating the paperwork that had been submitted, I have prepared complete findings as of March 2006. I am still trying to track down more information about Nero and the AKC German Shepherd, Rex.  However, here is what I have discovered about Phantom and Kijsha!

Once she realized that the ISSR would not compromise the integrity of this breed nor lower its strict stewardship, Gaby quickly resigned and joined the NSBR, soon to be followed by 3 other LB's that have invested in her Phantom litter.

Full details have been discussed among the the LB's via the VIB and OSS forums, as well as on the special SSC site.  Additional information has also been presented on the SSDCA members forum.

In conclusion:

I would like to clear up some of the "gossip" that seems to have been spreading.

A. No, Gaby is not (and never was) some "important" person in Switzerland. As I had stated before, she was even thrown out of the ADS club (as I had been told) although Gaby did correct me by saying that she was "never accepted" by any of the Swiss clubs. From the reports I have received, via reputable breeders, I must surmise that she is not well known/liked or accepted by any official organization in Europe.

B. No, the slivers do not have the data that they would need to get "breed recognition" especially since they have already used nearly a dozen OTX dogs! Many of them are not even allowed to be shown with ARBA because they still have AKC GSD papers therefore nullifying their claims of being a "rare" Shiloh!

C. No, there is no way that the SKG would even consider dealing with the kind of bogus paperwork Gaby tried to present to the ISSR. The European registries are very anal about proper documentation! Just look at the Artus paperwork! Not only is each dog recorded but the registration paper also includes his/her littermates, and they can be traced back as far as you want to go.  All the way back to Hektor if that's what you want!

Now, compare our paperwork to what Gaby tried to present! Then look at what she presented for Phantom or Kijsha! Even the counterfeit "registries" do a better job of preparing/faking "pedigrees" for their shelter mutts!

I can assure you that if you choose to trace back 1,000 pedigrees, you won't find one that lists two males as the "parents" of any European litter ever born! I have been breeding dogs for over 4 decades now--lots of dogs--and I have yet to see a male whelp a litter of pups! If one of my males tried to enter another male's orifice, I can assure you that a fight would ensue. Not puppies! Yet, if you look at Gaby's "official" pedigree, you can clearly see that Shilohs Wolfin Sasquach and Laz supposedly produced  Pax. Furthermore, two females did the same thing! Snow and Primo produced Lady! AMAZING!

Typing errors you say? Probably, but that's not what "official" papers should look like. It totally discredits the integrity of the entire breed! I might expect that kind of foolishness from the NSBR, but the European registries frown on this sort of hanky panky--so again, NO, there is NO way that Gaby's paperwork would be accepted by any reputable organization!

If anything, her foolish shenanigans have hurt our chances of getting in the Euro doors because now we have this stench to overcome--once again.
